EKL (Enfants de Klang Leu) is proud to have ICARE GROUP as a long-standing solidarity key partner for over a decade, exemplifying the power of sustainable collaboration.
Together, we are creating opportunities and transforming lives of kids and families in Cambodia.
Key Contributions to EKL Include:
- Financing a vibrant centre in Klang Leu, where ICARE GROUP began its journey in Cambodia 15 years ago.
- Funding essential educational programs and extracurricular activities.
- Hosting educational workshops in the factory to provide career guidance.
- Providing ongoing support for EKL’s social mission to support vulnerable families.
- Donating a tuk-tuk to enhance EKL’s mobility for vital educational and medical outreach.
But more than the above, showing long term commitment to a charity which missions make sense for the families of Klang Leu, for our local employees and for Cambodia that welcomes us as a business, as people and as involved community members.
Ariane Chapelle, putting her pen and expertise at the service of children
Ariane Chapelle, an award-winning author and recognised expert in operational risk management, chose to place her creativity and network at the service of the children supported by EKL.
In November 2025, she spent four days at the Centre, leading reading and creative writing workshops with the children and the Teen Club, visiting families and taking part in the Centre’s daily life.
Her commitment goes far beyond her presence in the field.
Ariane donates all profits from her children’s novel Tempête mène l’enquête to EKL.
She also auctioned part of her professional library, consisting of specialist books on risk management, several of which had been personally signed for her by their authors. The funds raised were allocated to financing the education programme.
Ariane also led workshops in five schools in Sihanoukville and Phnom Penh: Pama International School, ISPS, WIS, ISPP and Brighton International School. These workshops built bridges between those schools and the realities faced by children in Klang Leu. These initiatives generated a strong wave of solidarity: they enabled rice donations to be collected, encouraged meaningful intercultural exchanges between pupils and created new forms of support for the children of Klang Leu. A meeting with Phnom Penh’s diplomatic community also opened up new opportunities to support the organisation.
EKL Friends Belgium, local and creative solidarity
For its second year, EKL Friends Belgium continued in 2025 to play an essential role in helping fund the Centre’s activities.
Throughout the year, the Belgian association developed a form of solidarity that was both locally rooted and inventive through several fundraising events:
- the sale of handmade candles in partnership with Le Patio, with €5 donated to EKL for every candle sold
- cake sales
- sales of handicrafts from Cambodia
- sales of handmade chocolates produced by the workshop of a renowned pastry chef and chocolatier
EKL Friends Belgium also organised an information and solidarity event in Brussels to raise awareness of the Centre and its work.
Challenge Cambodge is a French association that provides financial support to Cambodian organisations working in child protection, education, vocational training and access to balanced nutrition.
A loyal partner of EKL for more than 15 years, it has provided long-term support for our work with the children of Klang Leu.
In 2025, this partnership focused on financing EKL’s educational initiatives: academic support, teaching materials and career guidance.
This targeted support reflects a shared vision: investing in education means investing in positive, responsible and empowering life paths.
The mutual trust built over the years between the two organisations provides a strong foundation for future projects.
